Thank you Volunteers & Donors

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year from all of us at Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity!

I feel genuinely blessed to call myself a part of the Iowa Heartland Habitat team this year. In the short few weeks I’ve been at Habitat, I have been amazed and inspired by what I’ve witnessed. From the dedicated staff, board, volunteers, and partner families to the many individual, church, community and business partners committed to our mission, I am starting to understand what true community means in a new and exciting way.

In 2013, community meant to Habitat:
  • 500 volunteers contributing nearly 20,000 hours to our projects
  • Partner families contributing over 3,600 hours of sweat equity building or repairing their own home and homes of other families in the program
  • Local businesses, individuals, churches, campus chapters, and community organizations coming together to donate thousands of dollars of outright and in-kind gifts
  • Individuals donating time to put on events, make meals, serve on the Board and committees, and be ambassadors in the community
  • A staff working tireless hours to see that everything came together, and was done right
Most importantly, it meant building new hope and security…one house at a time.

This year is shaping up to be a busy one as well, and IHHFH is looking forward to serving more families in our region. As you plan ahead for 2014, please consider joining our efforts! Volunteer to build, donate outright or in-kind gifts, shop at or donate to our ReStore, attend our events, tell the Habitat story and keep in touch via Facebook and Twitter. We couldn’t do our work without all of you. Let’s make this year one of our best yet!

Warm regards,
